Business Development Manager

Job Description:
  • Will be a part of the growing team of a small and vibrant consulting company in the area of publication planning, support and execution, with clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for effective networking and sales activities.
  • Have the personal motivation and ability to network with potential clients to develop relationships and obtain business.
  • Will work with pharmaceutical clients to obtain request for proposals for publication programs and business.
  • Will work with management team of the company to develop proposals for publication support programs as needed.
  • Will assist other team members, as needed, based on project timeline and workload demands.
  • Candidate can enjoy flexible work hours.
  • Location preferred to be in the New Jersey/New York/Pennsylvania/Connecticut/Massachusetts (Northeast Region) area to enable client interfacing. Regular working can be done with telecommuting.
  • Initially, it will be a contracting position with the possibility of becoming a permanent position in the future. 
 
Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree required, with advanced degree preferred.
  • A candidate with existing experience on the publication planning and management on either the pharmaceutical side or the agency/consulting side greatly desired.
  • Post-doc fellows with pharmaceutical industry publication management experience welcome.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to network or have existing network in the publication and medical communication area preferred.
  • Need to have strong sense of time urgency, professionalism and the ability to handle tight project timelines as needed.
  • Have knowledge of Good Publication Practice.
  • Basic understanding of statistical methods and research methodology used in health economics and outcomes research preferred.
  • Ability to network with clients independently under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of multiple therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other graphics software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Great team player with willingness to help team members as needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects and maintain a clear tracking. Please state your salary requirement.
